CHITRAL, Feb 2, 2010: The workers of grid station operation are working at the snow-bound 10,500-foot high Lowari top for restoration of electricity to Chitral.

Due to heavy snowfall on January 28 and 29, some four to six feet snowfall was recorded on the Lowari top, damaging the main transmission line of 33 KV to Chitral.

As a result, supply of electricity to Chitral has been suspended since then.

Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sarataj Ahmad Khan visited Ziarat to inspect the ongoing work on restoration of electricity.

It was learnt that during his visit some 16 staffers of GSO (Wapda) were found working without having any latest equipment or even warm clothing.--APP
