‘Accused confess to murder in court’ |

By Our Correspondent CHITRAL, Jan 22, 2010: Two persons accused in the murder case of an official of the forest department confessed to their crime in a local court and they were sent to the judicial lock-up on Friday. SHO Koghuzi police station, Zafar Ahmed, told this reporter that accused Sadiqur Rehman of Koghuzi Chitral and Sanaullah of Kalam Swat confessed before the court that they had killed Maqbool Ahmed at night and threw the dead body into the river while took away his cellphone and cash. He said the accused had sold the cellphone to a shopkeeper in Mardan. “Chitral police also recovered the blood stained shirt of Sadiqur Rehman from a laundry shop in Peshawar where it had been given for washing,” he added. The SHO said that a special team, headed by SDPO Shamsur Rehman, had arrested the accused from a hotel in Peshawar. The local police had registered a case against the accused and challan would be submitted to the court for further proceeding.--Dawn
