Call to write off microfinance loans |

CHITRAL, Jan 22, 2010: District Naib Nazim Sultan Shah has demanded of the prime minister to write off the loans of microfinance banks to provide relief to hundreds of people who had initiated small businesses in the district. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said that a large number of people specially the youth had started businesses by getting loans from the banks but due to the turmoil in the Malakand Division, they suffered losses. He said that Chitral-Peshawar road remained closed for eight months continuously and tourism activities stopped as military activities against the Taliban was going on in the region.--Zahiruddin
