CHITRAL, Jan 20, 2010: Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan has stressed upon all communities to extend support to hospitals and health units in Chitral, saying the government alone cannot overcome all problems and provide facilities without the help of the public.

He was addressing a function at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Drosh where a local  NGO donated 32 chairs to the hospital for its waiting room. Sartaj was the chief guest on the occasion.

He asked the in-charge of the THQ Hospital to submit a detail report about shortage of infrastructure for submission to the health department.

Dr Yaqub, Mr Qureshi, Jamal Nasir, Asfandiyar Khan, Chairman Young Star Development Organization, Haji Shad, a PPP worker, and elites of the area attended the ceremony.

They complained of shortage of specialist doctors in the hospital, adding the operation theater of the hospital also lacked latest equipment. They demanded fulfillment of vacant posts of specialist doctors and other staff lying vacant for long.--APP
