Liquor smuggling bid foiled |

CHITRAL, Jan 9, 2010: Chitral police foiled an attempt of smuggling a large quantity of liquor from Kalash valley to Chitral city in the late hours of Friday and recovered 151 litres of liquor. Subdivisional police officer Shamsur Rahman told media on Saturday the SHO of Chitral police station Nisar Ahmed and his staff raided the house of a notorious smuggler Mujeebur Rahman of Orghoch village and recovered the liquor. He said 2kg of charas was also recovered while the accused escaped in darkness of night. He said one of the workers of Ziaur Rahman has been arrested. He said DPO Mohammad Jaffar Khan had announced cash reward and commendation certificates for the raiding party which also included lady constables.—Zahiruddin
